James Ford
Managing Director
James Ford joined Charles R. Weber in 1987 as a broker, he became a director in 2001 and Managing Director in January 2008. James is a past Manager of the ASBA Tanker Broker Panel and President of ASBA. James was a director at Seascope Shipping and prior to that worked at John I. Jacobs in London. James was educated at Sandhurst Military Academy.

Michael Moore
Director

Michael Moore joined Charles R. Weber in 1977 initially working in Ship Operations. Michael become a broker in 1979 and a director in 1985. Michael graduated from Marist College in 1976.

Peter Howard-Johnson
Director

Peter Howard-Johnson joined Charles R. Weber in 1985 as a broker, he became a director in 2001. Peter presently serves as the co-manager of the ASBA Tanker Broker Panel. Prior to joining Charles R. Weber he was a tanker broker at D and L Services and worked for U.S. Lines and Mobil Shipping and Transportation. Peter graduated from Bucknell University in 1981.

Lawrence P. Jordan
Director

Lawrence P. Jordan joined Charles R. Weber in 1988 in the operations department. Larry became a broker in 1990 and a director in 2001. Prior to joining Charles R. Weber Larry worked at Gibbs and Cox. He graduated from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in 1986 with Unlimited Third Mates license.

Daniel O'Donnell
Director

Dan O'Donnell joined Charles R. Weber Company, Inc. in 1966 as an Accountant. He has been a broker since 1973. Becoming a director in 1985. Prior to joining Charles R. Weber, Dan was an Accountant with A.L. Burbank General Shipping Agency. He was in the U.S. Army from 1968-1970 and graduated from Fordham University in 1972.

George T. Eden joined Charles R. Weber in 1986 in the operations department, becoming a broker in 1987 and a director in 2001. George graduated from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in 1986 with an Unlimited Third Mates license.

Daniel O'Donnell Jr.
Director

Daniel O'Donnell Jr. joined Charles R. Weber in 1994 in the operations department. Becoming a broker in 1997. He graduated from Catholic University in 1993.

Christos Alexandrou
Director

Christos Alexandrou joined Charles R. Weber in 1998 as a broker. Prior to joing Charles R. Weber, Christos worked at Southport Maritime and Howard Houlder Tankers.

Keith Abbott
Director

Keith Abbott joined Charles R. Weber in 1999 as a tanker broker. Prior to joining Charles R. Weber, Keith worked for Poten and Partners. Keith graduated from Eckerd College in 1986.
Basil G. Mavroleon
Manager Period / Projects
Basil G. Mavroleon has worked at Charles R. Weber Company, Inc. since 1970, he was Managing Director of the Company for twenty-four years and he presently holds the position of Manager of the Projects Group. Mr. Mavroleon also serves as Managing Director of WeberSeas (Hellas) S.A.. WeberSeas is a comprehensive sale & purchase, marine projects and tanker chartering brokerage based in Piraeus, Greece. Mr. Mavroleon is a board member of Genco Shipping and Trading Limited, a NYSE listed international ship owner, a member of the Baltic Exchange, is on the board of the Associate Membership Committee of Intertanko, a member of the Association of Ship Brokers and Agents, the advisory board of NAMMA (North American Maritime Ministry Association), a board member of NAMEPA (North American Marine Environmental Protection Association) and is Vice Chairman of the New York World Scale Committee. He is a member of the Hellenic Chamber of Commerce, the Connecticut Maritime Association and NYMAR (New York Maritime Associaiton). Basil was educated at Windham College, Putney, Vermont.

Halvor Kielland

Halvor Kielland joined Charles R. Weber in 1985 as a broker, he became a director in 2001. Prior to joining Charles R. Weber Halvor was a ship broker at Fretheim Chartering, C.D. Mallory, Maton Grant Sutcliff in London and R. Johansen & Co. Halvor graduated from the Norwegian Military Officers School (Supply and Transportation Branch) in 1965 rank of Second Lieutenant. He graduated from Oslo School of Management in 1969.

Christopher Aversano joined Charles R. Weber in 2002 as a broker. Prior to joing Charles R. Weber, Chris was employed at ExxonMobil and Mobil. Chris sailed as AB and Deck Officer on Coastwise U.S. Flag Product Tankers for Mobil. He graduated from SUNY Maritime College in 1994 with Unlimited Third Mates license and graduated in 2001 from American University with MBA in Finance. Chris is the Communications Chair of the Connecticut Maritime Association.

Kevin Breen
Broker

Kevin Breen joined Charles R. Weber in 2001 as a broker. Prior to joining Charles R. Weber, Kevin worked at Islandia Chartering and Maritime Direct. Kevin graduated from SUNY Maritime College in 2000 with Unlimited Third Mates license.

 

Joseph Gross
Broker

Joseph Gross joined Charles R. Weber in 1997, spending 2 years in the operations department prior to becoming a broker in 1999. Joe sailed as a Deck Officer on AT&T Cable Laying vessels from 1991-1996, going ashore in 1996 with an Unlimited Master's license. He graduated from SUNY Maritime College in 1991 with an Unlimited Third Mates license.

Matt S. Heinemann joined Charles R. Weber in 2006 in the operations department. Matt transferred to the tanker broking desk in 2007. Matt graduated from the University of Massachusetts in 2004.
Laura Mirabella
Broker
Laura Mirabella joined Charles R. Weber in 2006 as a broker. Prior to joining Charles R. Weber, Laura worked at OMI Corporation and Heidenreich Marine. After earning her Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation and Business and Unlimited Third Mates license from SUNY Maritime College Laura completed her Master of Science degree in Ocean Transport and Trade. Laura is the Secretary Chair of the Connecticut Maritime Association.
Michael Sparks

Michael Sparks joined Charles R. Weber in 2004 as a broker. Prior to joining Charles R. Weber, Michael was a ship broker with Stolt-Nielsen and worked for New England Tanker Chartering. Michael graduated from Southern Methodist University in 1992.

 

John M. Kulukundis
Director of Research

John Kulukundis joined Charles R. Weber as Director of Research in 2005. Prior to that John worked as a tanker and projects broker for Charles R. Weber and various European and Far East brokerages. He worked on the Chartering desk for ship owners London and Overseas Freighters and was at sea for two years. John is a board member of the Connecticut Maritime Association.

Operations Manager
Rich Varnot joined Charles R. Weber in 2006 as Operations Manager. Prior to joining Charles R. Weber Rich sailed on tankers from 1975-1982 and has since held operational management positions at Heidenreich Marine and Stolt-Nielsen. Rich graduated from SUNY Maritime College in 1975.

Eugene Blondel
Operations

Eugene Blondel joined Charles R. Weber in 1992 as operations manager. Prior to joining Charles R. Weber, Gene held chartering and operations positions at New England Petroleum/Charter Oil and Simpson Spence and Young. Gene graduated from N.Y Institute of Technology in 1975.

Michael Alban
Operations

Michael P. Alban joined the operations department of Charles R. Weber in 2000. Prior to joining Charles R. Weber, Mike worked for Odin Marine and prior to that Texaco. Mike graduated from Rider University in 1972.
Len Faucher
Operations
Len Faucher joined the operations department of Charles R. Weber in 2007.
Prior to joining Charles R. Weber, Len held operations and supply scheduling positions at Hess Corporation and sailed as a third mate with Masters Mates and Pilots.
